Making Spaghetti Interesting

Based on where you live and what your cultural heritage, your family probably absorbs plenty of potatoes or a lot of pasta. In case you’re searching for a few creative options about how to cook spaghetti squash to spice up dinnertime, then here are two things that you can do using spaghetti that you might not have thought of!

1. Utilize it cold in a salad. Cook the pasta according to package instructions and wash well in cold water. Create a dressing table with 1/3 C mayo, 1/3 C plain yogurt, one T sugar1 T soy sauce plus 1/2 t new ground ginger. Toss the pasta along with the dressing with two chicken breasts, cooked and cubed, one red pepper, cooked till tender, but still crispy, 1/2 cup slivered peanuts, 8-oz of water chestnuts, 1/2 cup slivered carrots, 1/2 celery, peeled and chunked, pepper and salt to taste. Garnish with 1/2 cup fresh cilantro.

2. Create a skillet. Spaghetti pie is like a combo of spaghetti and lasagna, with spaghetti noodles utilized since the pasta. There are loads of versions on spaghetti pie, but here’s a simple one that is really tasty. Cook 3/4 pounds of spaghetti to al dente. Place about half of the noodles into a lightly greased spring form pan and cover with 1/2 jar of spaghetti sauce. Then add a cheese and meat mix. (Attempt 2 cups ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella, 3 large eggs, 1/2 t floor oregano, 1/2 t salt, one T basil and 1/4 t salt. Mix with 1-pound Italian sausage, sliced with green pepper and onion. ) Use half the meat/cheese mix as the next layer on your skillet. Repeat the layers and top with some mozzarella cheese. Cover with foil and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes. Remove the dish from the oven and let it stand for 10 minutes before you slice it.
