Microsoft will be joining hands with Disney’s Movies Anywhere service in the coming week. Movies Anywhere will now be supported by Microsoft’s Movies and TV application on Xbox and Windows 10, which will enable the users to watch digital movies from different services like Google Play Movies, Vudu, Amazon Video and iTunes on a single platform. The Movies Anywhere application was launched by Disney in the year 2014.
Earlier the users had to search multiple applications and even multiple tools to find out from which service they bought a particular movie. Now all the films bought by the user using a Microsoft Account on an Xbox or Windows 10 PC will get synced in one application and the application will be supported by a wide range of devices.
The Movies Anywhere application additionally supports purchasing from any service which the user is connected to. In order to sync the movies purchased by them, Xbox and Windows 10 users can link their Microsoft Account to an existing or new Movies Anywhere account.
Movies Anywhere films will appear inside Microsoft’s Movies and TV applications, regardless of whether they were purchased from other rival services. The customers are offered a free X-men movie ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ if they connect their Microsoft account to the Movies Anywhere application. However, Movies Anywhere is still constrained to US customers as of now.
